About this print
Surround yourself with the warmth of flowers and curling foliage. William Morris's Wild Tulip weaves cream blooms across an orange ground, creating a rich pattern with an inviting sense of movement. Following the stems from flower to flower is part of its pleasure, with new details appearing as you linger.
Morris's designs drew on close attention to plants as well as the discipline of repeat pattern. Here, the pleasure comes from tracing those connections: a leaf curls around a stem, a flower opens into a gap, and the warm background holds the whole arrangement together. The poster's labelled border gives the pattern a clear setting.
It would suit a room with natural timber, earthy colours or a few well-loved antique pieces. Pair it with a plain wall and simple textiles if you want the botanical detail to lead, or echo the orange in a small ceramic or cushion.
