About this print
For a kitchen that takes food seriously and enjoys a little theatre. This Ottone olive-oil poster brings an exuberant figure out of a swirl of greens, with raised cutlery, a red bow and sweeping yellow lettering. The dark backdrop lets the colour perform, giving everyday dining a sense of occasion.
The composition is full of contrasts: fine pale lines against black, loose foliage against the clear lettering, and a small face surrounded by oversized gestures. The greens make the subject feel abundant, while the red and yellow keep the image lively from a distance.
This print belongs comfortably in a kitchen or dining room with a sense of fun. Use it as the colourful piece above a sideboard, or pair it with a simpler food poster so each can hold its own. Dark cabinetry, natural timber and warm lighting would all suit the palette.
