About this print
Bring the thrill of vintage motor racing to your walls. This Montlhéry poster draws you into the driver's seat, with gloved hands gripping the wheel and warm streaks of colour suggesting the world rushing past. Deep blue lettering gives the composition a bold, unmistakably vintage presence.
The printed event details place the scene at the autodrome in May 1939. Its sense of speed comes from the tightly cropped viewpoint and diagonal lines, which make the car feel as though it is moving beyond the edge of the image. Orange, cream and blue give the sporting subject a strong graphic rhythm.
