About this print
Enjoy the surprise of a face coming together from a handful of playful marks. Looping black lines meet green, yellow and orange in this Les Déjeuners Dessins poster, turning familiar features into an inventive arrangement. Its open, animated composition gives a room a lighthearted focal point.
The features do not settle into a conventional portrait. Different shapes occupy each side, and the colour blocks sometimes support the lines and sometimes cut across them. A cream surround and exhibition-style lettering give this playful arrangement a more composed setting.
It would bring a lively human note to a gallery wall of landscapes and botanical prints. Pick up the green or orange in a small object nearby, or keep the rest of the room neutral and let the face supply the colour. The mix of drawn line and flat shape rewards a closer look.
