About this print
Good manners, with a playful flourish. Three hats tip above gloved hands in this Mossant advertisement, turning a simple gesture into a lively piece of vintage design. Golden yellow and deep red give the scene warmth, while the different angles make the hats feel almost like a cast of characters.
The design gives an everyday accessory a theatrical presence. With faces and bodies mostly absent, the hats seem to perform on their own, and the repeated curves make the composition feel lively without becoming busy. Dark brown, grey and warm yellow create a rich but limited palette.
It would suit an entrance hall, dressing area or living room with a touch of vintage character. Try it beside fashion photography or let it stand on its own above a compact console. The bold background can introduce warmth to a space dominated by cream, black or timber.
