About this print
A pink bow where you least expect one. Banksy's Happy Choppers interrupts a military scene with an almost childlike flourish, turning a helicopter against clear blue sky into a sharp visual surprise. The smaller aircraft following behind make the leading helicopter's unlikely decoration even harder to overlook.
The image plays with the difference between appearance and purpose. A bow is an easy symbol of friendliness, yet it changes nothing about the machine beneath it. Pale clouds and clean colour blocks give this pointed contrast an almost storybook setting.
